Ensuring Health Throughout The Continuum of Pregnancy & Birth

This panel addressed model interventions from cities across the country working to improve reproductive and maternal health. In order to ensure a healthy pregnancy and birth, it is critical to focus on a woman's overall health and wellbeing. Panelists highlighted how the framework of preconception care can be incorporated into existing women's health programs to help improve pregnancy and birth outcomes. The session also focused on ways that cities can address maternal mortality and how nurse-family partnerships improve health for both mother and baby during the perinatal period and beyond.
