Crisis Pregnancy Centers
The Urban Initiative is committed to assisting advocates in addressing the deceptive practices of crisis pregnancy centers (CPCs). CPCs are anti-choice organizations that often pose as women’s health clinics and seek to dissuade pregnant women from choosing abortion. Extensive national research, as well as recent reports conducted in states such as Maryland, New York, Texas, and California, has revealed that CPCs regularly use deceptive and manipulative tactics to achieve this goal.
Several localities have taken action, proposing and passing legislation requiring CPCs to disclose the services they do and don’t provide. Watch this video to learn more about these local efforts.
